Indian Territories

Indian territories, or reservation lands, were designated as part of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. In 1906, the independent Indian Territory was dissolved to make way for Statehood on Nov. 16, 1907. Visit ITGenWeb to research the full site.

Cherokee Outlet Available Area was settled as a result of the land run held September 16, 1893.

Comanches, Kiowas, & Apaches Darren McCathern Settlement of this area was decided by a land lottery instead of a race for claims. The opening occurred August 1, 1901. This was the last large land opening in the present state of Oklahoma.
